Can I use a clay bar on a car w/o a clear coat?

My car doesn't have a clear coat, and I'm unsure how to clean/maintain/detail it because I've always worked on cars with a clear coat. Will a clay bar rub/scratch the paint off? Wax recommendations for my car?

I would like to get a wax that takes out all of those little scratches you see in the sun? Any suggestions? I bought some Meguiars 7 and it seems to work pretty nice. Porter cable 7424 buffer polisher?

Hi i just got a porter cable 7424 in the mail today. Unfortunatley all i could afford is the pad that came with it. So thats all i have, it and the pad. Just wondering if this would do anything with a 3m rubbing or polishing compund to my car (get rid of scratch wise). Ive heard that your not suppose to use just a dry pad and the compund.
