My love of the Porter Cable 7424XP car polisher is well known. It is the highest quality dual-action car polisher made for car enthusiasts (in my humble opinion). However, when I found this Griot's Garage deal this morning (complete car buffer kit for under $200!), it really made me take notice.

It boasts the most power, a better handle than the Porter Cable, a 5" Velcro backing plate (standard), a easy-to-operate side switch.

The new Griot's Garage Random Orbit Polisher uses the same counterbalance design as the Porter Cable 7424X (and original 7424) for exceptionally smooth operation. It's a dual-bearing system with a changeable counter weight. That means you can change the balance weight to accommodate a heavier or lighter backing plate.

The Porter Cable 7424XP has a much higher list price, but is typically discounted below $130.
