Mothers Polishes is famous for their amazing aluminum and mag wheel polishes, and the PowerBall foam polishing tool is no exception. After you try one, you'll wonder how you ever polished your wheels and chrome without it.
I first learned of the Mothers PowerBall a few years ago while attending the Goodguys Rod & Custom car show in Del Mar, California. Walking by the Mothers booth, I found Dennis Holloway, owner and CEO of Mothers Polishes out front polishing aluminum diamond plate like a madman. It was amazing to watch, and I knew his new product would be a hit.
The Mothers PowerBall attaches to any standard 3/8" drill motor. With a few dabs of your favorite metal polish (Mothers recommends their own, of course) you're ready to take on any size metal polish job. What used to take hours is now completed in a matter of minutes.
There are now several products in the Mothers PowerBall family. The original is my go to foam polishing tool when my Bronco's rims need a good polishing, the Mothers PowerBall Mini (see Mothers PowerBall Mini Polishing Tool) gets into tight spots for polishing exhaust tips, grills, and other metal trim, and the Mother PowerCone (see Mothers PowerCone Polishing Tool
), which I have not tried.
The initial investment for the PowerBall seems high (list price around $34), but Mothers smartly offers a refill kit to replace the foam component. This makes the tool far more economical to use over the long run.
You will often find the Mothers PowerBall at discount auto parts stores for as low as $24.99. I found at least two online sellers offering the Mothers PowerBall for less than $18, making it a fantastic deal:
